Southeastern Pastel Society exhibition goes virtual

The winning selections from the Southeastern Pastel Society’s 41st International Juried Exhibition are now available to view online. The works, which were to be presented at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art, have been selected from hundreds of submissions from across the country.

The exhibition is juried by Debora Stewart, a Signature Member and a Master Pastellist of the Pastel Society of America and a member of the Master’s Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies. Stewart has also authored a North Light book titled Abstract Art Painting: Expressions in Mixed Media and a series of videos on abstract painting from Northlight TV.  Her pastels and paintings can be viewed in galleries across the country.

The Southeastern Pastel Society was established in 1987 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting pastel as a medium in the Southeast. The society has grown to approximately 200 members from all over the United States and other nations throughout the world and includes many nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. The Southeastern Pastel Society sponsors two to three exhibitions each  year: a major exhibit with workshop, an online exhibit and, when possible, a local exhibit.
