The month after her inauguration as Oglethorpe University’s 18th president, Dr. Kathryn McClymond will visit four states over the next six months, connecting with alumni, meeting with donors and sharing her vision for the university’s future.
At each stop, Oglethorpe’s Alumni Relations team, along with a host committee, will convene a special event in which McClymond will speak and get to know the alumni of that community.
“President McClymond will share her vision for Oglethorpe University as Atlanta’s premier undergraduate learning experience,” said Sarah Emerson, Oglethorpe’s vice president of Advancement. “Alumni will hear how we are maintaining our commitment to the Core curriculum and a rich, liberal arts education, enhanced by new programs.”
Other topics include campus updates, plans for campus spaces like the move of the Hammack School of Business and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center to Goodman Hall, the new Writing Center director’s plans to enhance students’ skills, and the launch of McClymond’s major new initiative – career communities.
“This is both an opportunity to hear about the university’s future as well as a chance to reconnect with fellow alumni, share your experiences and be a part of shaping the next chapter of Oglethorpe’s history,” said Kathryn Henderson, senior director of alumni engagement and giving. “I hope to see our alumni who can’t make it to campus often during our travels.”
