Stormy Petrels Booster Club kicks off the new year

As the academic year gets underway, the Stormy Petrels athletic teams are also gearing up for another year of outstanding performance on and off the field. Likewise, the Stormy Petrels Booster Club is celebrating its donors who support these teams.

For many years, the Stormy Petrels Booster Club has been a dedicated force behind Oglethorpe’s 300-plus student-athletes. Booster Club members—those who have made gifts to support Oglethorpe Athletics—contribute to success across all OU teams. This support ensures that Oglethorpe student-athletes have the opportunity to win in the classroom, in competition and in life.

“Those who contribute through the Stormy Petrels Booster Club directly impact the competitiveness of our teams and make a difference in the lives of our student-athletes, as we support and graduate our Petrels as lifelong leaders,” said Todd Brooks, director of athletics.

To celebrate these committed donors, the recently announced 2024-25 benefits provide special recognition that correlates with a donor’s giving level. Membership levels range from $50 to $20,000 and above. This year’s benefits are connected to gifts made in the last fiscal year and include items such as an annual membership sticker, recognition in year-end reports, invitations to exclusive events, options for game day recognition, and more.

Members of the Stormy Petrels Booster Club may make annual gifts or monthly recurring gifts to areas within athletics. Their support provides opportunities for international team travel, new uniforms, new equipment and funding for many other athletics needs.

“Without donors’ support, it would be impossible to run a first-class athletics program, which is an integral part of our campus community,” said Brooks. “We are honored to celebrate these dedicated donors and ensure that they know our deep appreciation.”
