Oglethorpe again featured in latest edition of Fiske Guide to Colleges

Oglethorpe University was once again included in the Fiske Guide to Colleges, a bestselling compilation of the top 300+ institutions in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

Now in its 41st year, the Fiske Guide highlights the “best and most interesting” colleges and universities. Badge that says "Featured in 2025 Fiske Guide to Colleges"Striving to be “helpful, honest, and straightforward” in its review of colleges, Fiske includes quotes from real students to give an insider’s look at what it’s really like to be a student at each school.

“The diversity is one of my favorite things about our campus,” one Oglethorpe student said. Another said about the demanding faculty: “They really do care for you intellectually and personally.”

In its profile, the guide highlights Oglethorpe’s “highly diverse student body and extensive financial aid.” It also notes the university’s Atlanta location as a compelling reason to consider attending, stating, “In a region where most liberal arts colleges are in sleepy towns, Oglethorpe has the South’s most exciting city at its fingertips.”

According to Fiske, the publication is “the best-selling college guide on the market and the one that high school counselors recommend most often to students and parents.”

Edward B. Fiske served for 17 years as education editor of The New York Times and launched the Fiske Guide to help college-bound students and their families make their educational choices. For 40 years, the Fiske Guide has shared “the unique personalities of schools” and offered in-depth college descriptions, ratings, up-to-date tips from current students, and tools for broadening and narrowing prospective students’ college lists.
