For the Class of 2024, graduation is just around the corner. As the May 18 ceremony draws near, this year’s Senior Week promises an array of exciting events celebrating their accomplishments and inspiring lasting memories.
Monday, May 13 – Senior Week Kick-Off BBQ, 6 – 9 p.m.
Senior Week will begin with an evening reception on the TLCC patio featuring food, music, drinks and games. Young alumni are invited to meet the newest members of OU’s alumni community!
Tuesday, May 14 – Ice Cream Social and Scavenger Hunt, 1 – 3 p.m.; Lock-In, 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.
Seniors can have a sweet treat with their classmates as they participate in a campus-wide scavenger hunt! The event will begin on the Conant Veranda.
Later that night, seniors can enjoy a light-night event featuring games, music, crafts and bonding activities. Dinner will be catered.
Wednesday, May 15 – Trip to Slingshot Social Game Club, 7 – 10 p.m. (buses leave at 6:15 p.m.)
Experience a night in Atlanta at Slingshot Social Club, an all-in-one restaurant, arcade and game center.
Thursday, May 16 – Graduation Rehearsal, Class Photo and Carillon Ceremony, 4 – 7 p.m.
Get ready for graduation by attending rehearsal at 4 p.m. in the Lowry Hall Atrium. Seniors will get a crucial run-down of Saturday’s ceremony while learning important tips and etiquette. Then, seniors will gather for a special class photo.
After, seniors can participate in a hallowed and much-anticipated tradition — The Carillon Ceremony. Climb the iconic belltower, ring the bell and take a commemorative photo. Please RSVP by May 9.
Friday, May 17 – President’s Reception, 4 – 6 p.m.; Senior Art Exhibition, 6 – 7 p.m.
Finally, seniors and their families are invited to a special, catered reception in the Turner Lynch Campus Center hosted by Oglethorpe University President Dr. Kathryn McClymond. No RSVP is required.
Afterward, join graduating studio art majors in TLCC 106A and 106B for an end-of-year exhibition showcasing their growth as artists at Oglethorpe.
As a bonus, special Class of 2024 t-shirts will be given away at every Senior Week event!
“Senior Week is our chance to revel in all we’ve achieved together and to reminisce on the moments that defined our Oglethorpe journey,” says Senior Class President Randi Parks ’24 to her classmates. “We’ve got good food, good vibes, and good times waiting for you! I cannot think of a better way to spend my last moments at Oglethorpe than celebrating with all of you. Trust me, you won’t want to miss out on the fun. See you all there!”
