Oglethorpe University named a ‘Best College’ by research company

Oglethorpe University has once again earned a place on’s annual list of Best Colleges by state.

Black and white badge depicting designation of Best Colleges in Georgia.’s top picks are “highly-regarded, affordable, and offer the tools and resources students need to successfully graduate and excel in their fields.”

For the 2024 report, the research company analyzed more than 3,000 academic institutions across the country. Each was evaluated based on four important decision-making factors for students when selecting a school: academic quality, graduation rate, cost and return and on investment, and student resources.

Criteria considered included tuition costs, admission standards, retention rates and diversity, as well as the on-campus resources and services provided for students.

“Institutions conferred with this accolade stand out for their dedication to fostering academic communities that reflect Georgia’s rich cultural tapestry,” shared in a press release.

Headquartered in Seattle, provides research based on publicly available data from the National Center for Education Statistics to help students make informed decisions about their higher education choices. The website offers curated guides on the best degree programs, as well as information about financial aid and internships.
