Petrels plan for post-graduation at annual Career and Grad Fair

More than 220 Oglethorpe students attended this year’s Fall Career and Grad Fair eager to form lasting career connections.

With 56 organizations and graduate schools represented, students had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with a variety of recruiters, hand out resumes and even snap a professional headshot. Among those organizations were employers like: Ameris Bank, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Wellstar Health System, the Peace Corps, Enterprise Holdings, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

“The annual career fair gives students access to a host of employers and grad schools right here on campus,” says Oglethorpe’s Director of Career Development Dr. Lisa Conley. “Many of our students secured internships and job opportunities through our 2022 fair. We hope that trend continues!”

Eight Oglethorpe alumni returned to campus this year to recruit their fellow Petrels. These alumni represented organizations like: Vert Digital, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Northwestern Mutual, Athena’s Warehouse, People Store, Mercer University and Kate’s Club.

“I interned with Kate’s Club for a year and a half,” says OU alumna Kacie Chasteen ’18. “From there I was able to get the job as their program coordinator and help them start their young adult program LoKate, and now I’m the facilitator for that as well.”

“It’s because of this Oglethorpe Career Fair that I was able to make that connection.”

The Career Development department at Oglethorpe hosts networking events and workshops throughout the year.
