WABE radio explores Critical Race Theory with Oglethorpe’s Dr. Laura Renée Chandler

Oglethorpe’s Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Laura Renée Chandler, PhD was featured on Atlanta’s NPR station WABE this week in an interview with Rose Scott, host of “Closer Look”.

Dr. Chandler was joined by Dr. Richard Benson, associate professor in the Department of Education at Spelman College.

Their discussion centered around the recent decision by the Georgia Board of Education, and others, to prohibit public schools from teaching Critical Race Theory (CRT).

Topics covered include the definition of CRT, truths and misconceptions, and how it might affect higher education.
