Canton & Company spotlights Oglethorpe’s successful COVID-19 strategy

Oglethorpe’s partnership with Canton & Company was key to a successful fall semester—and it continues to aid campus operations while navigating the ongoing pandemic. Recently, the public health company released a case study of Oglethorpe’s approach to reopening campus.

Canton & Company provided guidance for implementing multiple strategies in fall 2020 to limit the spread of COVID-19 on campus, including ongoing regular testing, routine residence hall wastewater testing, and secure daily symptom tracking and case management conducted through LifeguardMobile app. Most of those strategies have since scaled up for the spring semester’s larger population,

Michelle Hall, vice president for campus life, was quoted in the case study: “The greatest benefit was the Canton & Company team’s expert public health guidance regarding the risks associated with COVID-19, ways to reduce the spread among the campus community, and establishing thresholds for continuing and/or ceasing campus operations,”
