Senior Chris Williams releases album featuring fellow student Keagan Stromberg

Chris (C. Will) Williams ’21 recently released his debut album “South Union” under FYE Productions. The deluxe version of the album is set to release before the end of the year.

“All the way up until a week before the release of the album, I had songs that needed to be re-recorded,” Williams said about the project.

“I was prepared to push the project back altogether until I was introduced to my current producer, Brevin Ellis. We clicked immediately, and once we started recording, we both knew it was the beginning of something special. We spent 18 straight hours re-recording the entire album trying to meet the deadline.”

The Business Administration major started making music because he “got tired of seeing the same negative message over and over in the industry.”

After graduating, the senior plans to pursue music as a career and hopes to one day become a mentor to other young artists.

When asked about his own mentors at Oglethorpe, Williams said, “I would like to give a big shout out to René Alvarez for pushing me to do what’s best for me and to follow my dreams.” Alvarez is Director of Academic Success and Advising.

Chris (C. Will) Williams ’21 and Keagan Stromberg ’21

Featured on the album in the song “JC” is Keagan Stromberg ’21, a fellow Oglethorpe student and Business Administration major, as well as a Communication Studies minor. (Check out his most recent self-produced EP “Where the Heart Is” and other works here!)

“Working on the album with Chris was a really good experience for both of us. He gave me my first official production credits on ‘Me and You,’ which was really dope to see,” says Stromberg. “He’s got a really smooth flow, and the collaboration process was seamless. I can’t wait to see how he grows as an artist.”
