Hammack School of Business announces case competition open to all students

The Hammack School of Business is sponsoring a new business case competition for Oglethorpe students in any major or discipline.

Teams of three to four students will be given a real-world business scenario to analyze, research and solve for a panel of expert judges. Each student on the winning team will win a $50 Amazon gift card. The runners-up will also receive a prize.

Upon delivery of the prompt, students will have two weeks to review the case, develop a solution and organize a 10-minute video presentation to be delivered via Zoom.

Interested teams should e-mail [email protected] by Monday, Oct. 26 with a team name and the names and e-mail addresses of team members. The first five teams to apply will be accepted to the competition.

This competition is an opportunity for students to sharpen sought after career skills—like critical thinking, problem solving and presentation ability—while developing their resumes and collaborating to solve a challenging dilemma.

The timeline for the competition is as follows:

  • Monday, Oct. 26: Receive the case
  • Friday, Nov. 6: Submit recording of presentation
  • Thursday, Nov. 12: Participate in a 10 minute question & answer session with the panelists over Zoom (5:30 – 7:30 PM)
  • Friday, Nov. 13: Winner and Runner-up announced

Best of luck to all students!
