The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2021-2022 academic year is now open!
Completing the FAFSA is required to be eligible for federal grants and loans, such as the Pell Grant and Stafford Loan. Submission of the FAFSA can also be used to receive state awards, such as Hope and Zell Miller funding, as well as need-based scholarships from Oglethorpe and to be eligible for federal work study on campus.
To complete the FAFSA, visit studentaid.gov and follow the instructions based on whether you are a new or returning user. Be sure to include Oglethorpe’s school code: 001586.
Students who have DACA status or are undocumented, international, or cannot complete the FAFSA for any other reason are invited to complete the Internal Student Financial Aid Application. For students who are currently experiencing financial hardship, Oglethorpe offers Emergency Assistance Funding. You can complete an application here.
Join Oglethorpe Admission for a FAFSA and Financial Aid 101 info session, open to prospective students and parents, on October 8 at 6 p.m.
For students seeking federal financial aid to pay for college, the deadline to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is June 30 each year. But to maximize their chances of getting aid, every prospective and current college student would ideally submit the FAFSA promptly after the application opens on Oct.
