Dear Professor – Dr. Seema Shrikhande and Ferrin Tinter ’20

Graduating seniors from the Class of 2020 were asked to write a letter to the Oglethorpe professor who impacted them the most. Watch as those professors read letters from their students and share a moment together.

Ferrin Tinter ’20 graduated from Oglethorpe with a degree in Communication Studies. She transferred to Oglethorpe her sophomore year and immediately became involved on campus. Tinter was secretary of Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT), served as an Orientation Leader for three years before serving on the Orientation Leader Council and served as an Admission Ambassador. She was also a Pegasus intern in the University Communications office. She currently interns with Susan G. Komen Atlanta as an Event Planning Intern.

Tinter fondly remembers spending a lot of time in the office of her favorite professor, Dr. Seema Shrikhande, professor of communication studies. She took many classes with Dr. Shrikhande and was her advisee, however, Tinter recalls how she could talk to her about anything.

“Not only would she entertain me and all my problems, but would laugh at all my jokes, roll her eyes and say a jokingly exasperated, ‘Oh, Ferrin,’ and offer me candy.”
