Watch student entrepreneurs pitch business ideas — with funding up for grabs

Ever watch the TV show Shark Tank? Entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas in hopes of attracting the financial support to make them reality. Tune in for Oglethorpe’s version on Monday, April 27 at 2 p.m.!

This live, end-of-semester finale of the Oglethorpe Idea Incubator program, sponsored by the Oglethorpe Entrepreneur Club and supported by the Hammack School of Business, will feature student entrepreneurs pitching their business proposals. At stake? Up to $4,000 in grants for the winning student entrepreneurs!

While the virtual event won’t include Mark Cuban or Daymond John, there will still be some familiar faces among the judges: Dr. David Nasser, Hammack School of Business professor; Hammack School of Business Dean Dennis Kelly; and Anita Patterson ’97, an Oglethorpe trustee and alumna.

The following student entrepreneurs will pitch their business ideas, developed over the academic year:

Roi Levi, Danny Ocampo, David Povolotsky – An app to provide real-time updates on bars/restaurants where identified friends are currently congregating

Drew Luzzatti, Will Ransom – A website to assist job seekers 50-65 in finding part time, volunteer, or salaried positions.

Yasmina Travaly – Apparel and accessories inspired from national flags

Folabomi Oyewo – Offer unique, limited products sourced primarily from Asia and Africa to US customers

Funlola Oyewo – Handcrafted fragrances from natural sources in Asia and Africa
