Richey to appear on Thursday marathon edition of Hoopsville

Oglethorpe women’s basketball coach Alex Richey is set to appear on Thursday’s episode of Hoopsville, with host Dave McHugh. The episode will serve as the program’s annual marathon show, highlighting Division III college basketball over 9 hours beginning at noon. Richey’s segment is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:20 p.m.

Women’s basketball ranked in both major polls for third straight week

The Oglethorpe women’s basketball team moved up a spot this week to 18th in the D3hoops.com Top 25, marking their highest ranking of the season in the poll. They stayed put at No. 11 in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25, equaling their highest mark in that poll.

Women’s basketball routs Birmingham-Southern 84-43 to continue undefeated SAA campaign

The Oglethorpe women’s basketball team, ranked 11th in the coaches’ poll and 19th in the D3hoops.com ranking, led nearly from beginning to end Sunday afternoon en route to an 84-43 blowout of the Birmingham-Southern Panthers at Bill Battle Coliseum in Birmingham, Alabama.

Women’s basketball locks down Millsaps defensively in 56-40 win

The Oglethorpe women’s basketball team held the homestanding Millsaps Majors to just 23.1 percent from the floor and 16 percent from beyond the 3-point arc Friday night en route to a 56-40 victory at the Hangar Dome in Jackson, Mississippi.

Men’s basketball holds off Birmingham-Southern late, maintains second-place position in SAA

The Oglethorpe men’s basketball team improved to 6-3 in SAA play and maintained a tie for second place in the league with an 86-83 win over Birmingham-Southern Sunday afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama, at Bill Battle Coliseum. The win also improved the Stormy Petrels to 12-8 overall.

Men’s basketball drops 80-74 decision at Millsaps

The Oglethorpe men’s basketball team bounced back from a 12-point deficit in the second half to tie the homestanding Millsaps Majors Friday night, but Millsaps hit the shots they needed to down the stretch to secure an 80-74 victory at the Hangar Dome in Jackson, Mississippi.
