Grodhaus nabs coaches’ Scholar All-America honors

Senior midfielder Andrew Grodhaus of the Oglethorpe men’s soccer team took home Scholar All-America second-team honors from the United Soccer Coaches Wednesday, providing a capstone to his remarkable 4-year career as a Stormy Petrel. It marked the first Scholar All-America award of his career and the third season in a row in which a member of the team earned the honor.

Grodhaus earns coaches’ first-team Scholar All-Region recognition

The United Soccer Coaches named Oglethorpe senior midfielder Andrew Grodhaus to their NCAA Division III men’s Scholar All-South Region first team Monday, as voted by coaches from around the region. It marked the first such award of Grodhaus’ career and the fifth consecutive season in which a member of the Stormy Petrels has earned the honor.

Women’s basketball remains 16th in WBCA coaches’ poll

The Oglethorpe women’s basketball team remained at No. 16 in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll this week. It marked the fifth time in 2019 that the WBCA ranked the Stormy Petrels, and tied for the team’s highest ranking of the season.

Women’s basketball holds off Belhaven for 81-76 win, sweeps TownePlace Suites by Marriott Classic

The Oglethorpe women’s basketball team completed a sweep of the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Classic Tuesday afternoon at Dorough Field House, holding off the Belhaven Blazers 81-76 to improve to 10-1 on the season. The Stormy Petrels outlasted their opponent in a foul-filled game that went back and forth, seeing six lead changes and five ties along with 56 total fouls.

Women’s basketball holds off LeTourneau 89-85 in overtime

The Oglethorpe women’s basketball team found themselves locked in a tight game with the LeTourneau YellowJackets Monday evening to get their week at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Classic started. The home side outscored the visitors 16-12 in overtime, though, to secure an 89-85 win over LeTourneau and improve to 9-1 on the season.


Nikki Reed of the Oglethorpe women’s basketball team has been named the OU Female Athlete of the Week. Reed scored 22 points last Tuesday in the team’s 76-72 win over crosstown rival Emory, sinking all five of her free throw attempts down the stretch.

Men’s Basketball


Josh Cammon of the Oglethorpe men’s basketball team has been named the OU Male Athlete of the Week. Cammon scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting in the Stormy Petrels’ loss at Piedmont last Tuesday night, then added 9 points on 3-of-3 from beyond the arc in the team’s SAA-opening loss to Berry on Saturday.
