The Oglethorpe men’s basketball team bounced back from a tough performance Friday night to take their second game of the Vikings Tipoff Tournament 71-57 over the Warren Wilson Owls Saturday afternoon in Mount Berry. The victory improved the Stormy Petrels to 2-1 on the season.
Men’s basketball falls to Bob Jones 75-63 in Vikings Tipoff Tournament
The Oglethorpe men’s basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday evening in Mount Berry, falling to the Bob Jones Bruins 75-63 on the opening day of the Vikings Tipoff Tournament. The loss dropped the Stormy Petrels to 1-1 on the season, and they’ll complete their stay at the event Saturday at 2 p.m.

Men’s cross country earns numerous postseason awards, highlighted by Villa’s All-Region honor
The Oglethorpe men’s cross country team saw several athletes earn postseason honors this month, both for performances in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional and the SAA Cross Country Championships. Senior Mateo Villa garnered South/Southeast All-Region honors, while senior Rodrigo Meade, sophomores Aidan Goldston and Thomas Ridley, and junior Bill Lester all took home All-SAA honors.
Men’s cross country finishes 13th at NCAA Regional
The Oglethorpe men’s cross country team placed 13th at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Saturday in Memphis, Tennessee. They finished with 398 points on the afternoon and an average time of 27 minutes, 1 second on the 8-kilometer course.

Men’s soccer falls to Gettysburg in opening round of NCAA tournament
The Oglethorpe men’s soccer team saw their season come to a close Saturday afternoon in Lexington, Virginia, as they fell to the Gettysburg Bullets 5-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship. The result moved the Stormy Petrels to 14-5 to end the season.
Men’s soccer set for third NCAA tournament appearance
The 22nd-ranked Oglethorpe men’s soccer team takes on the Gettysburg Bullets in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Lexington, Virginia, marking the program’s third overall appearance in the NCAA tournament and their second in the last three years.

The Oglethorpe women’s basketball team bounced back from a tough loss Friday with a 73-53 win over Randolph-Macon on Day 2 of the Comfort Suites Classic Saturday in Emory, Virginia. The Stormy Petrels outscored the Yellow Jackets 25-7 in the third quarter en route to 20-point victory, which improved the team to 3-1 on the season.
