The Oglethorpe women’s soccer team is off to the best start in program history, a 7-0 mark, after outlasting the Wesleyan Wolves 3-2 in Macon Sunday evening. The Stormy Petrels nabbed two early goals only to see Wesleyan storm back and tie the game early in the second half.
The Oglethorpe women’s soccer team equaled their best start to a season since 2010 Wednesday evening, advancing to 6-0 on the campaign with a 2-0 win over the visiting Agnes Scott Scotties at the Oglethorpe Track and Field. Men’s cross country finishes sixth at Rhodes College Invitational, second among Division III competition
The Oglethorpe men’s cross country team finished second among Division III teams Saturday at the Rhodes College Invitational. The Stormy Petrels finished sixth overall with 210 points, coming in behind Emory and Division I teams Tulsa, Memphis, Arkansas State and Cincinnati, but ahead of defending SAA champions Rhodes.
The Oglethorpe men’s tennis team continued their stay at the ITA Division III South Regional Championships Friday at the Rome Tennis Center in northwest Georgia. In the main singles consolation draw, junior Alexis Morel fell to North Carolina Wesleyan’s Ingmar Remmerswaal 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.
The Oglethorpe volleyball team had a tough day Sunday at Dorough Field House, losing a pair of matches to fall to 4-7 on the season. The first match of the day was a 3-0 defeat to conference foe Millsaps, dropping them to 0-3 in SAA play on the season.
The Oglethorpe volleyball team fell 3-1 to the visiting Birmingham-Southern Panthers Saturday in their home opener at Dorough Field House. After dropping the first two sets 25-11 and 25-21, respectively, the Stormy Petrels came back with a 25-21 win in the third.
The Oglethorpe volleyball team found in itself with a tough matchup Wednesday evening, facing off against the No. 5 Berry Vikings on the road in both teams’ SAA opener. The home side controlled the match throughout a 3-0 win, winning sets 25-15, 25-13 and 25-20.
