Photos: MAP Day welcomes first students in Class of 2023

Making a Petrel (MAP) Day brought incoming students to campus for the first time this summer. The event allows new Petrels to discuss class schedules with an Advisor, see on-campus residence halls and get connected with current students and faculty. Parents are also in attendance to learn the ins-and-outs of Oglethorpe so they know what to expect for their new enrollees.

After breakfast and a welcome from President Schall in the Conant Performing Arts Center, students headed to the Schmidt Recreation Center for team building sessions. More than 120 students and parents were joined by the student orientation leaders for lunch in the Petrel’s Nest before afternoon rotations centered around resources and Student Success took place in the Cousins Center for Science and Innovation and the Turner Lynch Campus Center. A reception in the TLCC and residence hall tours ended the day.
