Men’s tennis had a strong weekend, besting both Birmingham-Southern and Millsaps in conference matches. The women’s team unfortunately dropped the same showdowns.

Men’s tennis comes back from doubles defeat to sweep singles, beat Birmingham-Southern

The Oglethorpe men’s tennis team recovered from dropping two out of their three doubles matches and swept all six singles ties to knock off Birmingham-Southern 7-2 in their SAA opener Saturday at the Howell Courts. With the win, the Stormy Petrels improved to 6-4 on the season overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Women’s tennis falls to regionally-ranked Millsaps squad

The Oglethorpe women’s tennis team had a tough matchup Sunday afternoon against a Millsaps team ranked 10th in the Atlantic South region. They hung tough but eventually fell 5-2 to the visiting Majors, with the match played to decision due to early wet-court delays.

The men’s and women’s lacrosse teams both went 0-2 over the week.

Women’s lacrosse fall 14-12 to Point

The Oglethorpe women’s lacrosse team came back from a seven-goal deficit to pull to within just two late in their game against Point University Wednesday evening at the Oglethorpe Track and Field. The visiting Skyhawks held on for the 14-12 victory, though, dropping the Stormy Petrels to 4-6 on the season.

Men’s lacrosse falls to Hendrix on Senior Day

The Oglethorpe men’s lacrosse team was shut out in the first half and, despite playing better in the second half, couldn’t claw their way back into the game Sunday afternoon against the visiting Hendrix Warriors at the Oglethorpe Track and Field.

Senior Arielle Shaw recorded her best triple jump of the season to win her signature event at the Emory Classic.

Men finish 16th, women tied for 18th at Emory Classic

The Oglethorpe track and field teams closed out their stay at the Emory Classic on Saturday with an eventful day. The women got a first-place finish from senior Arielle Shaw on the day and scored points via their relay team, while freshman Bryce McNealy placed for the men.

The baseball team won its first game again Centre on Saturday but wasn’t able to keep the momentum, dropping the next two, as well as a doubleheader versus Pfeiffer.

Baseball earns doubleheader split after pair of blowouts at Anderson Field

The Oglethorpe baseball team split Saturday’s doubleheader with Centre at Anderson Field, beating the visiting Colonels 12-4 in Game 1 but falling 13-0 in Game 2. The results moved the Stormy Petrels to 9-17 on the season overall and 5-6 in SAA play.
