The Track and Field teams kicked off their indoor seasons at the BSC Panther Indoor Invitational. The men’s team finished fourth among Division III schools in attendance, and senior Rodrigo Meade finished fourth overall in the mile run. On the women’s side, sophomore Sydney Payne recorded a personal best in the shot put.
Track and field gets indoor season started at BSC Panther Indoor Invitational
The Oglethorpe track and field teams got their indoor season started Friday with a trip to Birmingham, Alabama, for the BSC Panther Indoor Invitational. The men’s team finished 18th at the meet overall and fourth among the six Division III schools competing at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Men’s basketball picked up two wins — one from stellar defense, another from an offensive outburst. David Swillum’s 14 points paced the Stormy Petrels’ 111-point effort in Dorough to edge the team over .500.
Men’s basketball runs past Boyce 111-46
The Oglethorpe men’s basketball team earned a blowout victory over the Boyce Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at Dorough Field House, running past the visitors 111-46 to improve to 4-3 on the season. The Stormy Petrels got contributions from a variety of players on Saturday.
