Research funding is available to Oglethorpe undergraduates, thanks to the Philip Weltner Library student research development fund, established in 2016.
Students may apply annually for funding to defray costs incurred while conducting or presenting research. Eligible uses of the funds include attending conferences, research-related equipment, and project and logistical expenses.
In the first two years, 10 students were awarded stipends to conduct and present research in art history, chemistry, linguistics, mathematics, psychology, sociology, and Buddhist philosophy.
All students are eligible to apply, with the exception of those students already receiving stipends through the Honors Program. The deadline to apply online is Wednesday, November 7, 2018 an extension from the original deadline.
Applications will be evaluated by a committee comprised of Dr. Lea Alford, Eli Arnold ’06, Dr. Beth Concepción, Dr. Glenn Sharfman, Dr. Sarah Terry, and Dr. Justin Wise.
