Students explore digital marketing at top Atlanta agency

Vert, an award-winning full-service digital marketing and advertising agency, recently hosted Oglethorpe students interested in pursuing public relations and communications careers.

The Oct. 19 event was sponsored by Oglethorpe’s new PRSSA chapter (Public Relations Student Society of America), advised by Dr. Kate Keib and supported by University Communications and the Atlanta Laboratory for Learning.

The students who attended were Erica Alexander, Alyssa Fitch, Deisi Casillas-Miguel, Valencia Barnes, Alexandra Benisek, Patrick (Skyler) DuBose, Manuel Portillo, Mark Smith, and Tyler Rover.

Originally a start-up, Vert is a growing agency with more than 30 employees that specializes in mobile, social, emerging media, and brand experiences. Their clients include top brand names like the Weather Channel, Coca-Cola, Taco Mac, RaceTrac, ESPN—and Oglethorpe University.

Students toured the Vert offices (decked out for Halloween), learned about various roles within the agency, and had the chance to sit down with the professional marketers to ask questions and get advice on working in the field.
