Men’s golf got the new season off to an outstanding start at the Southern Athletic Association Fall Preview in Dickson, Tennessee, by coming back from six strokes to take first place. Senior Jacob Arnett ’19 won the individual medal at the event with an 8-under 136 over two rounds.

The Oglethorpe men’s golf team got the new season off to an outstanding start Sunday at the SAA Fall Preview in Dickson, Tennessee, as they came back from six strokes behind to tie Berry for first place at the 36-hole event at Greystone Golf Club.

Women’s soccer is off to its best start since 2010, as it defeated LaGrange over the weekend.

Women’s Soccer Uses Pair of Kassam Goals to Pull Away from LaGrange

The Oglethorpe women’s soccer team thoroughly outplayed the visiting LaGrange Panthers Saturday afternoon at the Oglethorpe Track and Field, defeating them 3-0 and improving to 3-1 on the young season. The Stormy Petrels bounced back in a big way from the defeat at Emory on Thursday night and achieved the program’s best 4-game start to a season since the 2010 season.

After a strong showing at the Watermelon Run, the men’s cross country team was rewarded by coaches in the first region poll of the year.

Men’s Cross Country Ranked Ninth in Region by Coaches

The Oglethorpe men’s cross country team has been ranked No. 9 in the South/Southeast region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the first regional poll of the season put out by the organization.

It was a tough loss to ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday for men’s soccer, and they’ll have to wait another week to prove themselves. Their match-ups against no. 7 Lynchburg and Christopher Newport in Virginia have been postponed.

Weekend Schedule Changes Due to Hurricane Florence

The Oglethorpe men’s soccer and men’s cross country teams have seen weekend plans change due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Florence.

The volleyball team is still looking for its first win of the season.

Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets to Whitworth

The Oglethorpe volleyball team saw their stay at the Emory National Tournament in Atlanta end Saturday without a win, as they fell 3-0 to Whitworth at the Woodruff PE Center on Emory’s campus. The result dropped the Stormy Petrels to 0-7 on the young season.
