Delta Sigma Phi honored with Strong Leaders Award

delta sigma phiThe Alpha Nu chapter of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity at Oglethorpe University was recognized by the national fraternity during its annual Pyramid Program Awards.

Oglethorpe was an honorable mention chapter for the 2017-2018 Strong Leaders Award, having exemplified campus leadership. The selection criteria include number of on-campus leadership positions members of the fraternity hold.

Engineering major Mateo Villa ’20 is the recipient of a McKee “Men of Action” Scholarship, a $2,500 award for his commitment to outstanding service to the community, presented annually by Delta Sigma Phi.

A ‘Battle of the Books’ event for middle schoolers was also co-sponsored by the Alpha Nu chapter this summer, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and WSB-TV.

The Pyramid Program Award winners exemplify the fraternity’s mission of building better men, encouraging members to become better students, better leaders, better citizens and better professionals. The Pyramid Program is the fraternity’s accreditation program.

Awards

Delta Sigma Phi awards its chapters and individual members with several honors for outstanding success. Here is a list of our most recent award recipients. Created in 1969, the Mr. Delta Sig Award serves as the Fraternity’s highest honor, bestowed upon an individual who has given extraordinary service to the Fraternity for an extended amount of time.
