Campus Life

Oglethorpe? More like Goat-lethorpe

The university recently enlisted the help of some four-legged friends on a couple campus beautification efforts.

Goats were used to help clear the underbrush and thickets of vegetation around Hermance Stadium, near the turf fields and Conant Performing Arts Center, as well as several other spots in need of tidying.

Animals such as goats and sheep have become a popular means of clearing land as they are eco-friendly and cost effective. Not to mention super cute. We’ll miss the kids once the big kids come back to campus.

And in case you’re wondering about those tires, the grounds crew uses them to help weigh down tarps on the field in bad weather.
