More than 100 incoming students attended the summer’s final Making a Petrel (MAP) Day today. The event allows new Petrels to discuss class schedules with an Advisor, see on-campus residence halls and get connected with current students and faculty. Parents are also in attendance to learn the ins-and-outs of Oglethorpe so they know what to expect for their new enrollees.
After receiving newly minted Petrel Passes during the morning breakfast and welcome, students separated into small groups for a campus photo scavenger hunt, and team building orientation sessions. Student orientation leaders led much of the day that included lunch in the Petrel’s Nest before afternoon rotations centered around A_LAB resources and Student Success. A reception in the TLCC and tours ended the day.
Campus Life hosts and organizes MAP Days.
