Brazilian Rotary student finishing up year at Oglethorpe

The Rotary Club of Dunwoody annually sponsors an international student to study in America. This year’s recipient, Brazilian Felipe Bassani, is finishing up his time at Oglethorpe University, before returning home in June.

Bassani continued work on his architectural engineering major while at Oglethorpe, as well as contributed articles to the Stormy Petrel newspaper and magazine. He made the Fall 2017 Dean’s List and will become a Rotaract member upon his return to Brazil.

The Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) was founded in 1946, after the end of WWII, in an attempt to promote world peace and has allowed more than 2,700 student from more than 78 countries experience an American education. The Rotary Club provides tuition, room and board, and has a member of the club serves as the student’s host, introducing the student to American traditions, travel opportunities, and a local support system.
