On the one month anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Fla., many Oglethorpe students joined peers in a nationwide demonstration, walking out of classrooms in protest of gun violence, and to remember the victims.

Oglethorpe was founded on the principle that students should be prepared to make a life, make a living, and make a difference. It is not only academic achievement that we admire and foster in our community, but engagement in the issues that affect our lives.
