Sophomore selected to attend national Chi Omega leadership session

Sophomore Sydney Robert ’20, a sister of Chi Omega, was selected out of hundreds of applicants to attend the Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute of Chi Omega in Memphis. The Institute helps to prepare women to lead in their communities, work places, homes, and in Chi Omega.

As one of only 30 Chi Omega members nationwide to participate in the annual two-day Flagship Session, Roberts had the opportunity to foster her own personal growth and to learn skills to take home to share with the Delta Theta Oglethorpe chapter.

The Flagship Session is designed to bring together Chi Omegas from all generations, backgrounds, and leadership experience. Participants focused on understanding their own strengths and learning to leverage them through an individual strengths assessment. Workshop topics included how to be a resilient leader, exploring life balance, building authentic relationships, and leading with values.

“The experience was life changing,” Roberts said. “I learned so much about my leadership strengths and my sisterhood as well as myself! I’m so grateful to be part of an organization as amazing as Chi Omega.”
