Oglethorpe captures 6 awards for communications

All accepted students in the Class of 2021 received a packet with a Petrel Flyer origami and a Nescit Cedere poster.

Oglethorpe’s University Communications was awarded six 2017 MarCom Awards, recognizing creative work that achieves a high level of excellence and sets a benchmark for other industries in the field.

Oglethorpe received two Platinum Awards, the highest designation by MarCom, one in print media for the Oglethorpe University Carillon magazine Fall 2016 edition, and one in digital media for The Source.

Receiving Gold Awards were an admission acceptance poster and origami for print creativity, and the Adult Degree Program website for educational institution website category.

Honorable Mentions were given to This Is Oglethorpe, for print media recruitment, and the Oglethorpe University website, for digital media web content.

The MarCom Awards are an annual competition for marketing and communication professionals around the world. Platinum and Gold Awards are a tremendous achievement and are presented to institutions which display the highest level of artistry in their fields. The pieces evaluated are magazines, videos, pamphlets, and posters with impressive graphic design and creative content. Each entry is judged by members of the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, which consists of thousands of media and creative professionals who are experienced in the recognition of remarkable workmanship.
