On-campus: Sprout Film Festival “making the invisible visible”

Oglethorpe University’s Accessibility Services is partnering with Hi-Hope Service Center to sponsor and host the Sprout Film Festival on Saturday, September 30 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Conant Performing Arts Center.

The Sprout Film Festival, founded in 2003, is the first and only festival to exclusively showcase films featuring people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Hi-Hope Service Center is an Atlanta-area nonprofit that offers a variety of services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Doors will open at 2:15 p.m. and the film screening will run from 2:30 to 4:30, with a moderated response panel and a reception to follow. Elizabeth Peterson, director of the OU Museum of Art, as well as a mother and advocate, and Accessibility Services Intern Nicole Slifcak will participate on the panel.

General admission tickets are $10 in advance/$15 at the door; $5 for Oglethorpe students. Purchase tickets online here.
