Orientation Day of Service 2016: Making a Difference in Atlanta

Here are scenes from Oglethorpe’s annual Orientation Day of Service on August 27, which took more than 400 first-year students and student leaders, plus staff and faculty, out to volunteer at 16 nonprofits throughout metro Atlanta. Special thanks to Waffle House for getting the day started right with a hearty breakfast!

The volunteer locations were: the Atlanta BeltLine; Atlanta Community Food Bank; Atwood Community Garden; Blue Heron Nature Preserve; Books for Africa; Brookhaven Park; Crossroads Hospice; Gateway Center; Hosea Feed the Hungry; Making A Way Housing Inc.; MedShare; Nicholas House; Piedmont Park; Sheltering Grace; Society of St. Vincent de Paul; Volunteer! Decatur; and Woodlands Garden.
