Adult Degree Program

ADP Student Spotlight: Adrian Ambarus

A born entrepreneur, Adrian Ambarus ’16 started his first company, Global Technologies, Inc., in 1995. In 2013, after learning about Oglethorpe’s Adult Degree Program, he enrolled while continuing to work with his company.

A native Romanian, Adrian graduates in 2016, with a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in international business innovation and entrepreneurship.

While at Oglethorpe, Adrian studied abroad in France through the University of California Berkeley. There, Adrian was enrolled in courses that focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, including participation in the world’s largest accelerator European Innovation Academy (EIA), an intensive and fast-paced learning environment and multidisciplinary and multinational space for education, research and innovation. He and his entrepreneur team in the EIA program developed a conceptual project, Geograffiti, a start-up mobile app that uses geo-tracking to allow users to access real-life feedback on places in the user’s immediate area. This is the type of work he envisions for himself in the future. “I want to create fresh ideas of innovation in business,” he says.

After he graduates, Adrian plans to apply to an executive MBA program with a concentration in innovation and global leadership, and would like to become an ambassador for the European Innovation Academy.
