“Two Nobodies” Come to Oglethorpe’s Stage in [title of show]

In their first production of 2011, Oglethorpe University’s Theatre Department will present the award-winning musical [title of show] on February 10-12 at 8:00 p.m. in the Conant Performing Arts Center.

Based on the story of its own creation, [title of show] (that’s right—that’s the name of the production) is a 2008 Broadway musical based on the music and lyrics of  Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell.  The play follows “two nobodies” in New York who set out to write a musical about two nobodies in New York who set out to write a musical.  Got it?

In [title of show], Hunter and Jeff enlist the help of two friends—actresses, who get them through everything from writer’s block to casting troubles. Still, the dilemma remains: will the show end up being “pretty good” to hundreds of audience members, or will it prove to be “Nine People’s Favorite Thing?” Regardless, this musical about four friends trying to make their dreams come true is both hysterical and inspiring.

Tickets are available at the door on the nights of the show for $7—or free to those with a valid Petrel Pass.
