Eli Arnold named Director of Philip Weltner Library

Eli Arnold ’06 was recently named Director of the Philip Weltner Library. He previously served as University Librarian and as Interim Director of the library following the retirement of librarian Anne Salter in June 2017.

“Eli emerged as the best choice in a national field,” Provost Glenn Sharfman said. “I have no doubt he will be an outstanding director and help us meet the growing demands of technology and knowledge called for in today’s libraries.”

After graduating from Oglethorpe in 2006, Arnold served in the Oglethorpe Office of Admission before completing a Master of Library and Information Science degree in 2012 from Valdosta State University. Arnold joined the Philip Weltner Library as a Reference Librarian in 2014 after working at the Sturgis Library of Kennesaw State University for two years.
