OU mathematics professor receives award for excellence

Dr. Mary Garner, visiting assistant professor in mathematics, received the 2017 John Neff Award on October 19 from the Georgia Council of Teachers in Mathematics.

The annual award is presented to an individual who models excellence in the profession and serves as an inspiration, mentor, and advocate of mathematics and mathematics education.

Dr. Garner earned a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Emory University, M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida.
