Like communities across the nation, Oglethorpe’s campus paused today—the first day of classes—to experience the historic total eclipse. Hundreds of students, faculty, staff, family, and neighbors gathered together on the quad for a viewing party hosted by the Society of Physics Students, which provided the in-demand requisite glasses, special telescopes and instruction to safely view the eclipse.
