ECOS Campus Garden in full bloom

Behind Goodman Hall lives one of Oglethorpe’s best-kept secrets.

Managed by the Environmentally Conscious Oglethorpe Students (ECOS), the Campus Garden is a collection of planters kept by members of the Oglethorpe community. Despite relentless rain this summer, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and herbs flourished under the watchful eye of students and faculty. A new crop of eggplant and melons are on the way for a late harvest.

Of those keeping planters this season include ECOS president Jackson Lilly ’17, students Madeleine Tulk, Megan Keck, Katelyn Lilly and Dylan Harper, as well as staff from the Philip Weltner Library, IT and University Communications.

Dr. Roarke Donnelly oversees ECOS as faculty advisor.
