Residence Hall Stay Late Information
The residence halls will close for non-graduating students on May 10, 2017 by 12 p.m. The residence halls will close for all students participating in commencement activities on May 14, 2017 at 10 a.m.
April 30, 2017 is the LAST DAY to request to stay late for spring 2017 and the latest possible day to stay late for any student is May 14, 2017. No exceptions will be made. Additionally, there is no interim housing for students staying on campus to take summer courses.
Few, if any, late stays are possible this spring, but if you need to request to stay late please complete a Stay Late Form. As a reminder, no students will be approved to stay any later than Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. All students that request to Stay Late should be prepared to volunteer with the Student Engagement & Leadership Office for Commencement Activities. Students that are unapproved to stay late (and thus not volunteering for Commencement activities or participating in senior week and Commencement requirements) will incur a $100 per day fee.
Please be very specific with your reason(s) for needing to stay late. Note that this is merely a request and is subject to approval. You will be notified of approval or denial via email by the Student Engagement and Leadership Office by May 3, 2017. Until you have received approval, you should plan to move out of your residence hall room by the May 10th at 12 p.m. deadline. If you do not receive approval to stay late and you do anyway, you will be assessed a fine and may face disciplinary action.
You will be contacted by Rebecca Stewart to set up volunteering with Commencement activities; if you do not volunteer to help with Commencement or another senior event, you will be charged the $100 a day fee.
