Not only is Atlanta the place to be if you’re one “helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, hell of an engineer” but the city is also the place to be if you’re one “helluva” lawyer.
Austin, Texas-based SpareFoot.com reported Atlanta is the best city in the United States for lawyers to move to based on job availability, average annual salary, median home price and median annual rent.
“I hope you like your waffles with fried chicken and your tea with heaping spoonfuls of sugar,” the blog reported. ” Atlanta topped our list thanks to having a strong average salary for lawyers coupled with the most affordable rental rates relative to the others on our list.”
According the the study, lawyers in Atlanta make an average salary of $99,000 — the No. 3 highest (tied with Washington, D.C.) in the country.
The study found that a $90,000 salary represents 55.3 percent of the average home price in Atlanta. Additionally, rent in Atlanta accounted for only 16.9 percent of the average lawyer’s income in the city, the best ratio on the list.
According to Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Book of Lists, the city’s largest law firm is King & Spalding LLP, which has 344 attorneys in Atlanta. Rounding off the top 5 are Alston & Bird LLP, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP,Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP and Troutman Sanders LLP.
