Alex Attebery ’16, a biopsychology major and business minor, just launched his own sunglasses business, Woah! Shades.

In addition to being senior class president, president of his fraternity Delta Sigma Phi, and carrying a full class load, Alex has been working behind-the-scenes for more than two years to set up his business. Woah! Shades offers all-natural, hand-crafted wooden glasses that Alex has designed himself, focusing on quality, comfort, and durability.

As part of the process of establishing his company, Alex created a business plan, collaborated with manufacturers to plan for production, developed a logo, set up a website, and began social media marketing on Instagram. On top of that, he is currently fulfilling orders himself.

“My family has always been business-oriented,” Alex said, “I love it, because I get to produce for the benefit of others. It’s been a long journey, but completely worth it!”

Alex has already received numerous online orders. After a pre-sale event ends November 10, his shades will soon be available in stores throughout Atlanta. After that, Woah! Shades will begin to drop in Florida, D.C., and Chicago. And then, the sky’s the limit.
