Oglethorpe’s A_LAB branding & marketing wins gold

Branding and marketing designs for Oglethorpe University’s Atlanta Laboratory for Learning (A_LAB) were honored with two awards in the 2015 University and College Design Competition.

The overall A_LAB brand identity program won a Gold Award, one of the top honors in only seven categories. The A_LAB admission brochure, distributed to prospective students, was individually recognized with an Award for Excellence in the recruitment category.

The A_LAB, located in the Turner Lynch Campus Center, helps Oglethorpe students to put their classroom learning into action through hands-on experiences in study abroad, civic engagement, internships, and research. Spearheaded by Oglethorpe’s University Communications and em2, an Atlanta-based education marketing firm, the A_LAB branding process was an effort that included staff, students, and faculty.

Founded in 1970, the University & College Designers Association (UCDA) is the nation’s first and only association for professionals involved in the creation of visual communications for educational institutions. UCDA provides for its members’ professional and personal growth, and advocates for designer and educator roles within their institution.
