The Delta Theta chapter of Chi Omega, one of three Panhellenic sororities on the Oglethorpe campus, was awarded the Chi Omega Chapter of Excellence Award for their outstanding performance during the 2014-2015 academic year.  Delta Theta was one of only 37 chapters (among 178 active collegiate chapters nationwide) to receive the award—and the only chapter in the state of Georgia.

The honor is determined based on a site visit by a national consultant, who evaluates how each chapter balances and incorporates into daily functions the sorority’s six purposes: friendship, high standards of personnel, sincere learning and credible scholarship, career development, participation in campus activities, and community service.

Chi Omega is one of the largest members of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). The Delta Theta chapter was founded on Oglethorpe’s campus in 1969. Delta Theta traditionally holds an annual fall Spaghetti Dinner and a chili cook-off in the spring, both benefiting Chi Omega’s national philanthropy, Make-A-Wish Foundation.
