Dr. Michael Rulison, professor of physics, was honored with the 2014 Vulcan Materials Company Teaching Excellence Award at Oglethorpe University’s commencement ceremony.

Established in 1991, the “Vulcan Teaching Excellence Awards” annually honor an outstanding professor on selected member campuses of the Georgia Independent College Association. The award is presented to a member of the faculty in recognition of excellence in teaching, commitment to student success, and leadership to enhance campus community.

Dr. Rulison received his B.S. from University of Illinois and his M.S. and Ph.D. from The University of Georgia. He joined Oglethorpe’s faculty in 1982.
